Eeek! Where'd the time go?

I forgot Monday! Well.... that's ok. I never heard a song cheering on Monday, so it's best forgotten, right? All I can remember about it is that it was bussssssy. Ugh! So anyway, what the heck did I do today? I woke up early and got all domesticated. Well, it wasn't because I'd been possessed by June Cleaver's ghost, nope, I had overripe bananas in the house and I thought to myself, "Self, that'd be awful wasteful to pitch those bananas when kids in Guatamala don't have bananas to eat." Then I thought, "Self, you're an idiot. Kids in Guatamala ONLY have bananas to eat." So then I decided to pull a Marie Antoinette and bake muffins! Gads, I had so many bananas that I had to double the recipe. I came out with like 48 muffins! Half went to work with me and half arre going to work with the hubster tomorrow. I'm banana-'ed out. Tip to readers: If you go to Sam's (or another warehouse store near you), and buy the big bunch-o-nanners for like a buck, be sure and either EAT them or take them out of the bag... leaving them in the bag makes them ripen super fast (totally forgot that from 10th grade science class *duh*). UGH!

Oh yeah, did I write? Eh... nope. But I DID think about it at work today, during the 3 minute lull I had between customers. But I can't remember what it was. The one thing I DO remember is that my friend came back from Mexico with two big ol' bottles of Kahlua for me for Labor Day. Yummy!

It's SUN day... but with a 10% chance of showers...

I sure WISH it would rain and quit teasing me. *shaking finger at the cloudless sky*

Anyway... guess what I did today? Yeah, you got it. I worked! But like I've said umpteen (or at least 2) times, I get paid time and a half on Sundays, so I'll do it. When they ask for Sunday volunteers, I turn into that cartoon wolf -- you know the one... My tongue lolls out and I give the wolf-whistle and then my eyes have these spinning little dollar signs in 'em. *KA-CHING!* Meanwhile, my characters are still yakking on the beach where I last left them... they're probably bored with each other and may be secretly voting each other off the island without me knowing. Hmmm... I'm gonna hafta throw another boat in their canoe methinks.

Bran is still working on getting the picture-taking thing down. We took like 50 pics tonite and only about 4 came out. BUT it's fun to go find interesting things to snap. Of course we ran out of disk space and he says, "No more pictures. No more room, so don't find anything interesting." And wouldn't you know it, a SKUNK waddles in front of us (we were in this remote park near the lake). But c'mon... what are the odds?? Who'd a thunk it? Although, we DID manage to snap a cute pic of a ....strutting rooster. NO ONE would have believed this -- so I'm glad we snapped the pic on that one. Veddy weird things abound at that park...

It's the day of Satur!

...whatever that is, I honor Satur. Bless you for having a day! But shame on you for making me work on it. Yeah yeah.. I worked today. I'm a worker Bee.. kinda like this little fella. The hubster took that pic - pretty spiff I thought. Anyhoo, I worked hard for my money (go Donna Summer!) so hard for it honey (dance dance dance!) so you better treat me right (all right!)... okay, enough Disco flashbacks for this note. I really need to write! I wrote some last night, but it was pure, grade A crapola. It stunk up the room. So I fumigated tonight and shall try again (until the stench overpowers me and I run shrieking from the room). I'm in the SAGGING MIDDLE of the book now (argh!) Talk about hard to get thru... I'm sick of these two characters! I have that whole love/hate thing going with them. And hmmm... the story needs to be at LEAST 90,000 words. I'm a little shy of 70,000 words now and I'm runnin' out of steam. HAILP!!! Okay... deep breath. Cover me, I'm goin' in.... *shudder*

TGIF!

How original is THAT title, huh? But it's true. Thank GOD it's Friday because I didn't have to work today. Not that I don't LOVE my job (b/c I DO!) it's just I'm working everyday this week and I'm tired. So today I slummed around and -- get this, you ain't a-gonna believe it -- I wrote a wee little bitty bit! YES! I rule! Walla-walla-bing-bang!

What else? Erm... oh remember when I went to the Dermatologist JUST to have the follow up visit to have him tell me whether the mole he removed from my pinky toe was normal or not? Well, I go in and they charge me $30 (TGFI - Thank God for Insurance!) just to have him saunter in and say "Your results were normal." and slam the lab paper down in front of me and continue with, "See?" So as he's planning on moseying right back out the door -- end of session -- with my hard-earned 30 buckaroonies, I say "Oh! Look here!" and hold up my right index finger. "Does that look like it might be Eczema or something?" to which he adjusts his glasses and hem-haws a bit then says to his nurse "Fetch some samples and my prescription pad." Sooo I got some topical oinment and a Rx for this really dry patch on my finger and now I feel as if he may have earned that 30 bucks afterall. :) And I learned something...according to him, a trained skin specialist... you should DAMPEN your skin before you apply ointment or lotion (soaks in faster). So there ya go, my Cosmo beauty tip of the day. Ta Da!

Chicka BOOM!

YESSSSSSSS! I'm thrilled to inform all of my faithful readers (one, two... and you over there) that the mole biopsy came back NORMAL!!!! Oh yesyesyesyes! *Happy Snoopy Dance* So basically, I was going to come home and write, right? RIGHT! Wrong! I went shopping with Mom and I just got home. I have to go to work in about an hour, so why should I get into writing when I'd just have to stop in teh midst of a good part (read: another reason to procrastinate). But anyhoo, I stayed up SUPER late re-reading my fave-o-rite book by RIchard Matheson (the man is a GOD) What Dreams May Come and I just LOVE it .. couldn't put it down. And dadgummit, I'm going to stop loaning my copies out... I've gone thru 3! I'm reading the library's copy now. Gonna hafta hit Ebay up for a couple more copies... aye yie yie. I sooooo hated the movie, but the book.. God, the book is fantastico (see... it makes me speak in tongue it's so magnifique!).

Perhaps I'll write more tonite.. perhaps not. Perhaps I'll quit saying perhaps... hmmm.. perhaps.

Pissy, Moany, Grumpy....

I'm not really in that bad of a mood, but I WAS! Not a whole lot to relate today.... just the typical work thing and home again. But the high note was that YESTERDAY (actually in the wee small hours o' the mornin' today) I managed to toil out 3 pages! YESSSSSS! And of course they are absolute crap-o-la, but they are NEW and they still have that cool NEW PAGE SCENT! I love it!

I go to the Dermatologist first thing in the AM to have my follow up and I'm hoping and praying that the results of the mole removal are NEGATIVE or BENIGN or whatever results equal GOOD.

SO as I'm worrying over that, no writing tonite.

Why did Frankenstein need platform shoes?

That's a question I've pondered for years. I mean the guy was HUGE! Plus, he was unccordinated because he was pieced together and elecrocuted, so it wasn't like he was totally right in the noggin anyway, right? So why make it even tougher on the poor guy by making him clomp around in platform shoes? It's like putting football players in stilettos. I agree, it would be funny.... but Frankenstein was supposed to be SCARY! Sorry but I don't get it. I mean, it's not like we can't hear him coming. Oooooh... it's Frakenstein (clomp! clomp! clomp!) Whatever shall we do? (clomp! clomp! clomp!)

Yeah, I digress (yet again) but a lady came in today wearing some of the BIGGEST platform shoes I've ever seen and all I could think about when I looked at her was Frankenstein... I'm sure she wouldn't have appreciated hte comparison, but it made me go into a blurry dream sequence at work and thus, I shared it with you above so that we "connected".

On a completely different tangent, I wrote last night! YIPPEE SKIPPY! Of course it took me 2 hours to write 2 pages of anything salvageable, but hey, I wrote and that's that. I'll do it again tonight, too. Because that's just the way I am. Nyah! Nyah!

Ok, I'm off...!

Elvis is the watermelon....

...I don't know what that means, but if Paul Simon says it, it must be true, right?

SO anyway... I worked (isn't that a shock?) today - but on Sunday's it's time and a half pay, soooo ain't that grand? But day-am, it was busy, busy! I was thisclose to putting a few people in time out (rude rudies!)

Oh! A bit o' good news. I wrote a page tonight. YESSSSSSSS! In between a few hands of Freecell (which, incidentally, I won, thankyouverymuch) I managed to write (and rewrite) a whole page! Yippee! Hooo-Hah! [firing my pistols in the air *BLAM BLAM*!] <-- actually, I'm just pointing my fingers in the air, cocking my thumb and shouting a couple of *BLAM BLAM's* but it's WAY scary and intimdating!

Nothing much happening... I ordered some stuff online last nite and now I'm all excited because da mailman's gonna bring me somethin'! It's like Christmas in August! Except I know what I'm getting...and it won't be wrapped... and there won't be any eggnog...and it's hot. But other than that, I'm psyched!

I've never bitten a monkey

Anyway.... today I had to work. I feel like the 8th dwarf "Worky" (that's what I'd name me. If I were a dwarf. And I'd kick the crap out of Grumpy. But I digress...) I work, work, work! I love my job but OH-me-so-tired!

It's raining again! <-- oh look, I left the bold italics on. Pretty...

Stop! no, YOU stop!

Ok, I'll stop.

I ate too many cheese puffs. Me-feelum-sickum.

EEEK! It thundered! Really loud and made my dog stomp on my foot! Yeow!

Oh yeah.. I'm procratinating again. *sigh* I just don't feel inspired. Mayhap I should bring drag the ol' laptop out and write on it... it doesn't have internet connection. But it does have FREECELL and I rock at that! *snicker* You're a geek! I know you are, but what am I?

Dragging feet....

I did NOTHING creative today - only worked. And I SO need to write!! My deadline is Sunday and BLAH I ain't even close.... *cry*

I did get paid today -- yay!

I'm going to try and write SOMETHING even though I know it'll be pure crap. But hey.. at least I'll FEEL productive.

Ta!

Writing??

I meant to write today since I get off work early on Thursdays.... but I wound up watching Big Brother and going to the grocery store (yes, yes.. procrastinating). So then I thought *idea* I'll write ALL day tomorrow since my day off is Friday. Well, duh... I totally forgot I'm subbing for someone all day tomorrow (ugh) what a damper this puts in my whole "gotta get it written before Sunday" plan.

And then I find out that the editor who asked for my complete manuscript in FEBRUARY of LAST year is coming to the conference here in town this September. I have GOT to get my @$$ in gear here!!!

Ok... gonna drag my pissy moany butt to bed now. *growl* Tomorrow, I'm going to finish the chapter at least. I have to!!! (That's me, threatening myself.. ooooh... I'm so scared...*shriek!*)

Blah Blah

Today was boring. Work was boring. Dinner was late when I got home b/c I cooked in the crockpot and it's STILL not done... sooooo I'll cook it well into tomorrow. That'll show it! Ppphhht!

Anyway, the cold front has moved out of town and everything is hot and muggy and typical August around here and it's GROSS! I hate the weather here.

Didn't write one single word today. I suck. I'll write tomorrow since I get off work early. I realllly hope I'll have the chapter finished by the 22nd -- that's when I have to have my crit group look at it. *ugh!* Nervous....

Off to bed. Ciao.

Work is a 4-letter word.....

Ok, I love my job. I honestly do (that's a first for me, I've always HATED my bread-and-butter jobs) but I digress.... I love my job, BUT there are aspects about it I could do without... namely the public. LOL! It's like a never-ending babysitting job. But I'm home now, unwinding and thinking I really should be writing... ugh! I need to kick my butt into gear and finish this thing.

Ok, I'm making a pact with myself. I'm going to log in everyday and write my progress down - be it one word, a paragraph or a whole chapter, I'm going to document it here. I have approximately 100 more pages to write to finish this thing and the closer I get to finishing, the more I dig my heels in and squeal NOoOOoOOo! Wonder why? Where's Freud or Jung when I need them? Shoot, I'd take Bob Newhart at this rate. WHY am I so scared of finishing? I don't know ... but I don't have time to figure it out, I have to WRITE! :)

Animal Quackers!

Nummy num! I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Animal Crackers. Especially the ones in the box -- the Barnum's Animal Crackers. The elephants taste best, but the gorillas are a close second. So I'm eating some now - kind of a mangled smorgasbord of body parts as they "shifted" in shipping. Hmmm... perhaps this is how Dr. Moreau started.... *macabre music plays in the background - but I can't hear it over the crunchy deliciousness!* muhahaha!

Er...anyway....

I had a pretty good day. I helped a really sweet, cute guy and he said "Thank you, young lady" and all of a sudden I was 15 years old again. I was tongue-tied and blushing and not married. LOL! He made my day. I've decided boys are a good thing (of course, that theory could change at any moment), but for now, they're on the guest list.

I didn't realize they put Koala Bears in the animal crackers box! They're adorable (and tasty!) Okay, they just booted the gorillas out of 2nd place.

Bubba Que!

Well, I had a lazy day (YAY!) and slept in too late. I haven't slept late in so long, I'd nearly forgotten how positively WONDERFUL it could be! Brandon and I barbequed today and my mother and niece came over. It was a nice get together and we had a great time. Food was teeeeee-rif! too! I made comfort food -- homemade mac & cheese! :)

Anyhoo, nothing much else... I'm in the middle of watching ENCHANTED APRIL I checked out from the library b/c a couple of my friends were so wowed out by it... I finally picked it up and am making Brandon endure it. It's kind of like an Agatha Christie story/movie, but without the mystery and murder... sooo... it's kind of boring (zzz!) Kind of a chick-flick for flappers. We're going to finish it though, it's the principle of the thing now.

S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y..Night!

Ok...for those who don't know the title, it's the BAY CITY ROLLERS -- woo hoo! Ok, that shows my age, doesn't it? You know you wanna sing... "Gonna rock it up, roll it up, Do it all, have a ball, Saturday Night, Saturday Night..." *warble*

Okay, I'm done.

Anyhoo, I went to work today and um... came home. YIPPEE! Brandon fixed steak on the grill and I let him :) They were yummmmmy!

Hmm, what else. Oh yeah, Molly (the black lab) murdered another squeaky toy *sigh* Very sad... it was her favorite little cow. She ripped it and tore it until all the stuffing came out. It was laid to rest in the box with all the other decapitated, dismembered and disembowled toys.

Other than that... I wrote a paragraph on my book. Slowly it creeps onto the page. I wish this writers block would give way already and just let me write!!! Grrrr! I need a squeaky toy to demolish! *Squeak squeak squeaker...squeak*

My dawgs are barkin'!

Ok, no they're really not. They're both sleeping... snoring ... and passing gas (phew!) in the room with me now... (must....get....gas...mask....gag!!) I'm talking about my tooties, my feetsies, my dawgs, man! Went to the dermatologist today to have a mole removed from my between my pinky toe and, what is that a RING toe? Anyway, I have to go in and see him again in 2 wks to see the biopsy results. I hope it's nothing. I mean I really, really, really hope the results come back NORMAL. So anyway, enough of that... today was a coworker's last day at work (Bye, Julius!) and we had a little party for him. Cookies, sandwiches, brownies, cheese.... it was yummy! Hmmm... I'm hungry now...

So Charley is chewing up the Tampa/St Pete/Clearwater part of the Florida coast now. Hopefully, it'll be over soon and not a lot of damage or danger. But on a purely selfish note, Charley and Bonnie (hurricanes) both have made this August WONDERFUL! Here in hot, muggy, icky, sticky Loooooziana, August is the WORST month -- yet thanks to the tropical storms, it's felt like AUTUMN most days this month. I'm lovin' it! (Forgive me, Florida!)

Spazzing out

So, today I decided to go ahead and start a blog, er... diary. And I'm even having writer's block on it! *Grrr* I'm slowly adding to my neverending story Serenity's Chance, but egads, you'd think I was writing War and Peace for crying out loud. Why is this taking soooo long??? Oh yeah... because a gazillion and three things happened to me in mid-course of writing it.

I want to redesign my web page now... I've grown weary of it (pish posh!). So I'll work on that this weekend... er... between writing of course! ;)

I'm thinking of trying my hand at a chick lit book next. No idea if I'll do that (considering I can't seem to finish this one little paranormal!!!) but I'll give it a go. Rah rah rah! Sis boom bah!
