Is it hot in here??

..or is it just me? OMG it's SWELTERING and it's only JUNE! This totally sucks! Bah Humbug (she says, mainly because it reminds her of Christmas when it's chilly! And she likes talking in third person, doesn't she?) Anyway... I went to see a fantabulous movie this week... with quite the hottie star. See if you can guess from the photos below...

BAM! POW! Batman!

Is it... Eagleman? Or Mockingbird Guy? Noooo... it's a MAMMAL superhero.. noooo it's not Ratdude! It's... the Batman! And the cutie is no other than that Welsh yummy, Christian Bale... have a looksee:

Hottie Welshman!

Anyway.. I totally give it two thumbs up -- and a bit of my right knee, too. Yes, it's just THAT GOOD. Mr. Delicious does an outstanding job and the secondary characters are marvelous as well... Morgan Freeman (great actor!) and Michael Caine (another wonderful actor!) and Liam Neeson (who is -- sadly -- starting to show his age, but still soooooo endearing to watch) all add to the show. I could have done without Katie Holmes' character -- not that I don't like her, but because the character wasn't really "necessary". *shrug* Go see it and see what you think. I just didn't "get" the pseudo-romance there. Seemed strained.

But speaking of Katie... and her man, Tom. Or TomKat as they're called in the tabloids these days. What does she see in that guy? Besides the fact that he's a megastar I mean? Cut away the hype and all the Hollywood hoopla and pretend that he's a regular guy... Okay, now pretend you're sitting in his living room and he's all in your face telling you that just because you don't believe the same thing HE believes in, YOU must be wrong. And if you STILL don't believe him, then he gets pretty darn argumentative. Then, Heaven Forbid, you spout something silly like a "what if" question at him.. like... WHAT IF *such and such* drug actually helped someone? YIKES! Where's the Batman to protect us now? We've got a hot Tom about to blow his stack! Well, thanks to Matt Lauer, we know what would happen in this situation... Tom would promptly tell you something like, "You don't understand the history of psychiatry. I do!" Sooooo.... yeah... I forgot, was it between the Mission Impossible movies that he got his medical degree...Or was it after Eyes Wide Shut? I can't remember.

Ick.. look at that picture. What happened to the pretty guy I had the mega-crush on? He looks kind of... evil now. *yikes*

Anyway, like I said, I used to adore him. I thought.. harmless, senseless, good-looking, very appealing. Now he's gone zealot! And he's so argumentative without (IMHO) the knowledge to back up his claims, that it's painful to watch him anymore. And the sad thing anout it is that he *is* such a megastar, that NO ONE will ever dare confront him and tell him he's WRONG. And God Forbid he has an open and honest debate about it. He gets flustered and then starts that belittling that is so ugly to watch. Blah. I'll still watch his movies... at least until he starts throwing his religion into the mix at every turn. I figure -- hey -- religion is a personal thing. Don't try to convert me, and I'll return the favor. Just because you have a HUGE platform in which to "preach your beliefs" doesn't mean people actually want to have it shoved down their throats. Whatever makes YOU (the universal YOU, that is) happy -- GREAT! Have at it. Suggest it to others. If they take it and it makes THEM happy... great! But if the fish doesn't bite after the first couple of times, move to a different fishing spot and don't ruin the rest of the day for the rest of us on the lake, okee doke?

Shark Boy and Lava Girl

Nope.. haven't seen it. But man, could they have PICKED a dumber name? (She said in her best Chandler Bing voice - good, yes?) I'm off on Fridays (today) and there's cartoons on and I'm all fixated. Megaman is on now. Ooooooh! I thought they were saying "Darklords" but now I see they're saying "Dark Lloyds" I dunno what those are, but I'd rather have Al Toids! Whatevah...

So I'm thinking seriously about writing again. Yes, it's true. But I'm only at the THINKING stage. I *AM* reading a book at the moment (that's a huge step for me considering how burnt-out I was on books, writing, etc). And it's really interesting -- called CONTACT by Susan Grant if you want to read a good paranormal about (of all things) aliens! I can't believe I actually LOVE it! Keeps me up late reading, too.

Works been ... trying. That's about the only word I can think of to use.

That's about all the news I can think of to share. Nothing really that I want to relate I suppose. No news is good news, right?
